A journey into the Past...

For centuries, Morocco has been a land of coexistence, where diverse cultures and faiths have lived side by side. Although today the population is predominantly Muslim, the country’s cities still bear powerful traces of its rich Jewish heritage.

Jews first arrived in Morocco as early as 70 CE, with a significant second wave following the expulsion from Spain in 1492. These communities established mellahs (Jewish quarters)—self-contained neighborhoods with synagogues, markets, and narrow winding streets—creating vibrant centers of Jewish life that continue to tell their story today.
