JHA PORTUGAL 2026 — A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND SEFARAD EDUCATIONAL EVENT

Jewish Heritage Alliance (JHA) proudly announces a landmark educational initiative exploring the history, memory, and legacy of Sephardic Jewry in Portugal. This unique program is being planned for June 2–4, 2026. This first-of-its-kind program will combine a rigorous international academic symposium with public-facing discussion, designed for both scholars and a broader audience—particularly descendants of Portuguese conversos seeking historical clarity and connection.
The event will engage scholars, descendants of Portuguese Conversos, and the broader public. JHA is currently collaborating with several Jewish communities in Portugal and will be reaching out to major global organizations—including governmental partners to ensure broad, meaningful participation.
Participants will uncover hidden chapters of Sephardic history, connect with living heritage, and experience the places where these remarkable stories unfolded.
Post the conference we are planning to offer optional immersive heritage tours across Portugal, bringing the story of Sefarad to life
